DODGERS ACCELERATOR Hits the Field for Demo Day

Over 300 VCs and business partners came to Dodgers Stadium on November 10 for the Dodgers Accelerator’s first-ever Demo Day. Ten portfolio companies showed off their wares, after completing a 10-week program that drew nearly 600 entrants from around the world.

Mentors for the program, which was run by R/GA, included the likes of Lakers great / entrepreneur Magic Johnson and Golden State Warriors co-owner Peter Guber.

Swish Analytics, Sideprize, and Juke take differing approaches to the burgeoning fantasy sports market, ProDay taps the power of pro athletes to help you work out anywhere, and League Apps is simplfying / digitizing the multi-billion dollar youth sports business.

And although all the portfolio companies are firmly rooted in sports events & athletics, many are looking to expand their platforms beyond their original base:

Point of Sale system Appetize has already processed over $300 million in onsite event & stadium transactions, and looks to disrupt the entire POS business as it expands into convention centers, fast food, and traditional retail.

Private social network Field Level has matched over 16,000 high school students to college / scholarship opportunities, and hopes to leverage brand affinity to future partnerships.

Doorstat‘s video-based software is aiming to leverage its sales & service optimization tools to traditional retail.

Kinduct Technologies is using its human performance platform to measure & improve performance in the healthcare and military.

Focus Motion‘s deep motion analytics kit plans to fuel the backend of a wide array of software and hardware companies in the coming years.

The festivities continued inside the Dugout Club, as potential investors met one-on-one with each company.

More details to come as each company continues to grow in the coming years — congrats!
