As more and more of our communication happens through screens as opposed to in person, the ability to communicate information visually is becoming increasingly important, and pictograms are some of the best communication tools we have at our disposal.
Pictograms are universally understood, they can communicate a lot of information without taking up a lot of space, and they communicate information in the blink of an eye. Because pictograms are becoming one of the preferred languages of the digital era it’s essential for any creator to understand the basics of pictogram design.
You’ll learn the history of visual communication, basic principles in semiotics and visual communication, and finally how to create a pictogram that has a high level of user comprehension.
