4th Annual SET Awards – Recognizing Engaging and Inspiring Science, Engineering and Technology Portrayals in Entertainment Media – were held at the Skirball Center today. Among the presenters were Alison Haislip (Attack of the Show), astronaut Leland Melvin, Adrian Pasdar (Heroes, SHIELD), Craig T Nelson (Poltergeist, The Incredibles), Atari / Chuck E Cheese godfather Nolan Bushnell, Sharon Lawrence (NYPD Blue), and Laura Spencer (Big Bang Theory, Bones).
In addition to presenting awards recognizing positive portrayals of smart people doing smart things on film & TV, LA-based school groups were recognized for their accomplishments in building local startups.
