PICS: TechLA at CicLAvia

CicLAvia celebrated its 11th event in since its launch on 10/10/10, this time through the neighborhoods of South LA.

The route was launched on Central Ave with a speech from Mayor Eric Garcetti, as well as a special appearance by Jaime Ortiz, who created the movement 40 years ago in Colombia with Ciclovia, which now runs every Sunday morning in the city of Bogota.

A group of youth-focused LA tech education initiatives set up shop at the start of the route, including Nuevo South, Mobile Film Classroom, Teens Exploring Technology, WhizGirls, 20 Million Minds, and Two Bit Circus.
